Help with daisy chaining leds?

I want to do a small project, but I'm not electrically minded at all, so i need help! For the top of my aquarium I'm looking to Have a moonlight effect on the water. How I Want To achieve this by daisy chaining is around 5 blue leds on a length of wire to a battery with on / off switch. Do i need resistors? And how do i do this? Thanks
